Who Knew?
The Liver Birds which stand atop the Royal Liver Building on the banks of the Mersy have been a symbol of Liverpool since the 12th century. Legend has it that if they should ever face each other, they will fall in love and the pair will fly away, leaving Liverpool to collapse in their absence.
